Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – The Ministry of Trade is collaborating with the Indonesian Organic Alliance (AOI) and PT Trubus Swadaya to encourage organic product export businesses that give birth to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Indonesia’s exports of organic commodities are still low compared to the total share of the world. Through this collaboration, SMEs will receive training, promotion and publication, product development, providing information on organic product market trends, developing networks with trade representatives abroad, and strengthening product image through organic product campaigns.
“This agreement reached is a form of synergy in encouraging exports and increasing the ability of SMEs to export Indonesian organic products. It is hoped that with assistance from the government, Indonesian organic product SMEs can increase the volume and quality of the products produced according to world market demand,” said the Director General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade Didi Sumedi, quoted in a press release on Wednesday (28/7/2021). Director for Export Development Cooperation Marolop Nainggolan said the large potential market for Indonesian organic products needed to be supported by an appropriate production strategy and marketing strategy.
Through assistance, SMEs exporting organic products can produce products according to market demand in a sustainable manner. “For this reason, the Directorate of Export Development Cooperation cooperates with AOI, an organization that provides product quality assurance and organic farming processes to producers and consumers. The Directorate of Export Development Cooperation also cooperates with PT bTrubus Swadaya which is engaged in agricultural publications, promotions and training. The existence of cooperation and synergy between parties is expected to achieve this goal, “said Marolop.
